- Understanding the field (AI) from interdisciplinary perspective
- Basic knowledge about history of AI and research areas of AI
- Basic knowledge and understanding of concepts, theories, methods and algorithms related to major building blocks of AI such as problem solving and search, constraints satisfaction, reasoning and knowledge representation from the logical point of view, and planning
- Awareness of existence of various methods of learning used in AI (symbolic, statistical, reinforcement-based, connectionist)

- Understanding how AI supports the design of intelligent computer systems and the study of intelligence in both people and machines

- Ability to apply and implement appropriate theories and algorithms to the simpler computationally-solvable problems using existing software tools,
