• Basic knowledge and understanding of linguistic disciplines/language components (Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics)
• Basic knowledge and understanding of language and/in society (language variations, idioms, dialects, standard, styles)
• Basic knowledge and understanding of language processing (speaking, understanding, language and mind) and language acquisition (early and later development, acquisition theories, acquisition of other languages, language learning)
• Overview of language typology

• Understanding of the basic principles in research incorporating linguistic perspective, in particular in the interdisciplinary area

• Basic knowledge in linguistics and related interdisciplinary fields and theories
• Communication with experts in relevant (for linguistics) fields
